Heavy Weapons Fighting is our re-creation of the armored knights of old. Fighters wear protective armor and build swords, spears, daggers, and axes out of rattan (a bamboo-like plant that does not splinter when it breaks) and face each other in one-on-one combat or engage in group melees or full scale wars. Rapier Combat is our re-creation of the unarmored of the middle ages (although our fighters wear protective gear!). Rapier combat evolved into modern-day fencing, however our fighters use heavier swords than fencers and also use a variety of other weapons and techniques. It also varies from one-on-one to large battles.Click HERE to learn how to get started!

SCA archers use materials and methods available to period archers. This includes a focus on natural materials such as wood and feathers in our bows and arrows. Archers use recurve bows, crossbows, and longbows. In combat archery, armored archers have targets that are moving independently – and some of them may be shooting back or coming at you with a weapon of their own! The low power of the bows and the design of the ammunition ensure safety, while still allowing armored opponents to know they have been hit.  Click HERE to learn how to get started!
