Building the Dream

In addition to the Lord of Outlandish and other well-known events held at Grand Outlandish, Building Workshops will be scheduled throughout the year where individual groups may come and work on-site to build your dream camp. All semi-permanent structures and plans for building should be approved by Countess Gilliana (gillian@processlocal.com). Official Building Proposal Forms and Building Guidelines will be published and distributed. If there are any questions regarding the process of getting your Camp Building Projects Approved, please get with the Autocrats or Countess Gilliana

We will also be holding fund raisers for the General Site Improvements Projects which include: completing the showers, adding roadway lighting, graveling/mulching the road, ADA/paid parking, RV camping, trailer pull-through and general parking improvements. We plan on holding a “Most Inspired Project” Competition during GOT XLV where all of these site improvements would be voted on by the populace. This would be a friendly competition showcasing all the wonderful site improvements and honoring those who are “Building the Dream.”

Building Workshops

This year’s Forty-Fifth Grand Outlandish Tournament’s theme is “Building the Dream.” Continuing on the work from last year’s Grand Outlandish, this year we plan on making some Grand Improvements to the Site and Camps, showcasing the pride and honor of the mighty Kingdom of the Outlands. We invite groups to build their dream encampments.

All Group Projects are to be officially approved by the Site Owners using the Site Building Guidelines and Building Proposal Form.

We are excited to announce the official Building Workshop dates and Site Projects planned. These Site Projects will have Fund Raisers organized to support them, and while not all of these will be accomplished in their entirety before this year’s Grand Outlandish, they represent the ongoing efforts we are taking to improve the Site.

Site Projects

  • Roadway Lighting
  • Roadway Wood-Chips/Aggregate
  • VIP/Handicap Parking
  • RV Loop & Trailer Pull-Through

  • May 19-20 2018

Please note, all work performed on Saturday will be ran and supervised in efforts to direct volunteer crews in accomplishing the Site Projects, and all work performed on Sundays will be for individual groups to accomplish their approved Group Projects.

Please come prepared to the Building Workshops with gloves, sunscreen, and good work boots. If you can bring tools, we could use: Chainsaws, Loppers, Shovels, Trailers, and Trucks. We will ensure there is water available on-site, however, please plan on bringing lunch and snacks as we will not be able to provide lunch this year. There will also not be any facilities on-site, so please plan accordingly, and as always, be respectful to the Site and the Landowners.
