Al-Barran Day of Arts and Sciences

Saturday, November 23, 2019 9am – 5pm

About the event:

Hear ye! Hear ye!

As the days shorten and the leaves fall from the trees, the artists of the great Barony of al-Barran surge to life, creating masterpieces of beauty and function. So fully does their creative cup runeth over that they seek to share their knowledge with all. And so do we arrive at the annual Day of Arts and Science Faire. Please join us for a day of classes, fellowship, food, and artistic displays.

In addition to formal classes, our Artistic Faire will have an “Ask the Artist” corner. We encourage you to bring your work in progress or ideas for your next project so that you can ask for tips, feedback, advice, or if necessary, solace!

We ask that artisans of ALL levels bring pieces they have created, whether recently or in years past that we may all marvel at our fellow citizens’ creativity, and gather inspiration from their endeavors, for whoso has not seen a piece of art and thought, “Yea, verily, I could do that!”

A potluck lunch, augmented by soup and bread will fill our bellies while we enjoy discourse and music. Dancing, you ask? What A&S event would be complete without it?

The al Barran Champion of the Arts will be determined by YOU the populace! Per the design of our most excellent Minister of Arts and Sciences, Lady Rois inghean Ui Longain, has decreed: “To determine the A&S Champion of al-Barran this year, we have narrowed it down to just this one event. That's right, no theme! We're going super simple with Documentation with one page at most. The icing on top? We will not be assigning judges to you, but rather having our great populace determine the new Champ! If you decide to bring something in for this exchange of interests, you can let me know ahead of time all the way up to the event. We will have a box for our populace to write cards of advice or words of encouragement for you that you can take home along with a little something from us to say thank you.”
